Meet Scott
Scott Selleck of Fort Lee, New Jersey, is celebrating his 29th year as a REALTOR by doubling down on systematic approaches to marketing, hometown expertise, and client satisfaction. “I used to cover a much bigger area, but the best thing you can do today becomes a local expert. People can get information so easily on the web now, so you have to really differentiate yourself. Being able to put a deal together is just the baseline – giving them a strategic advantage as a local market expert sets me apart.”
After graduating from Rider University with a BS in Business Administration, Scott enjoyed a successful career as a commercial REALTOR. “I sort of did things backward,” he recalls. “I originally got my license to rent apartments for part-time income, then joined a management company in Hudson County where I convinced the owners to let me try to sell apartment buildings with them. I sold over eighteen multi-family buildings in five years, and then I made the switch.” After working with RE/MAX and running his own business for seven years, Scott transitioned to Keller Williams City Views Realty, where his career as a broker, sales associate, and partner has been thoroughly decorated. His designations and awards have recently been celebrated with a five-year run in the Circle of Excellence, starting at the Gold Level in 2015 and culminating at the Platinum Level in 2021 and 2022. Scott attributes the bulk of his success to a tried-and-true approach to business, centered on “honesty, integrity, and always putting the client first so I can look out for their interests. I want to make their lives easier, and help them through their current stage of life, however, I can.”
Scott recognizes that these ingredients constitute the bedrock of his enterprise, and he has thrived in the virtual era by adapting and growing his digital footprint. “I’m part nerd, part techy, and part salesperson,” he exudes. “You kind of have to be these days. I’ve got close to 15,000 people following me on social media, and a private database of over 17,000. I have a unique value proposition because of my reach, and my connections to the Keller Williams Bergen County partners let me work with all of the top REALTORS in our area, plus plenty of international work.” In addition to digital networking, Scott also employs a virtual assistant to help him connect Zillow, Realtor.com, and Facebook with his listing-specific websites that integrate professional photography and videography. Scott’s combination of physical and digital diligence helped him close a successful 2022 with over $20 million in volume spread across fifty-one units.
With his position cemented in the industry, Scott is excited to bring his prosperity to the luxury market and the greater community in Fort Lee. “I just love getting to know people and taking
care of them. I’m the president of the Leonia Lions Club, and I’ve sponsored three children from Children’s International for the past twenty years – my own girls are twenty-three, twenty-one, and seventeen, and that’s the most gratifying thing. I think the ‘2023 version’ of me is the continuation and accumulation of everything I already do on a clean, fresh website!”
